Kinitics Automation to Present Innovative Aerospace Actuator at SMST 2024 Conference

On Tuesday, May 7th, join Dean Pick, Founder & CEO of Kinitics Automation Limited (Kinitics), as he presents a technical paper at the 2024 Shape Memory and Superelastic Technologies (SMST) Conference. The presentation, titled “Application of Shape Memory Alloys Inside a Ram Air Door Rotary Actuator” focuses on the development of a high-torque rotary actuator following a collaboration between Kinitics and Boeing.

The KRA01 rotary actuator featured in the presentation was designed specifically to operate a ram air door on a commercial airplane and, more generally, to demonstrate the underlying technology as a viable alternative to heavy motorized and hydraulic-powered systems. Electrically powered, fully self-contained, and environmentally sealed, the actuator represents a cutting-edge solution for aerospace applications.
