Kinitics Automation Showcases Zero-Emission Innovation at PTAC Methane Leadership Summit 2025

This April, Kinitics Automation proudly joined a diverse group of industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers at the PTAC Methane Leadership Summit 2025, held at the breathtaking Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Banff, Alberta.

Rebecca Schulz, Alberta’s Minister of Environment and Protected Areas, delivering opening remarks.

As Canada’s premier methane-focused event, the summit addressed one of the most urgent challenges facing the Canadian energy sector today: reducing methane emissions. Over two days (April 15–16), the event brought together a broad coalition of stakeholders—including government agencies, regulatory bodies, energy producers, service and supply companies, startups, research institutions, and academics—with a shared goal of accelerating real-world solutions for methane mitigation.

A major highlight of the summit was the Government of Alberta’s announcement of up to $65 million in funding for Emissions Reduction Alberta’s Industrial Transformation Challenge—a significant investment aimed at scaling technologies that can transform industrial emissions profiles across the province.

Kinitics was on-site to demonstrate the KVA38, our revolutionary zero-emission valve actuator that eliminates methane venting from pneumatic control systems. Engineered with our proprietary Shape Memory Alloy technology, the KVA38 offers a robust, scalable solution to one of the oil and gas industry’s most persistent emissions sources. The response from producers and industry partners across Canada was overwhelmingly positive, reaffirming the urgency and relevance of our work.
Beyond the presentations and product showcases, the summit created a space for critical dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing. It was an opportunity to connect with others who are equally committed to advancing clean technologies and aligning innovation with Canada’s evolving regulatory landscape and methane reduction targets.

As we continue to expand the reach and impact of the KVA38 and our broader suite of smart actuator solutions, events like PTAC MLS 2025 play a vital role in shaping the future of sustainable energy.

A heartfelt thank you to PTAC, the sponsors, and fellow participants for making this year’s summit one to remember. We look forward to continuing the conversation—and the work—toward a cleaner, more efficient energy future.
